HOW CAN WE FIX THIS?

〰️

HOW CAN WE FIX THIS? 〰️

#ONE

Have a policy to recognise, remediate and avoid mouldy homes in the UK, accepted by the authorities

  • Extend the Decent Homes Standard in England to apply to private landlords

  • Amend the Homes (Fitness for Human Habitation) Act 2018 and explicitly call out Damp

  • Introduce ‘Awaab’s Law’ to set out new requirements for landlords to address hazards in social homes. Following a consultation, they will bring these into force as soon as Parliamentary time allows

  • Change the law so that social and privately renting residents can complain directly to the Ombudsman

#TWO

Develop a standardised test to measure mould exposures in homes and other buildings

#THREE

Give high-quality advice for people living in mouldy homes, people seeking to remediate or builders seeking to avoid

#FOUR

Medical support for mould diseases

#FIVE

Help raise funds for further research
